I have to admit that I am more than just a little pedantic about web standards and writing compliant (X)HTML and CSS. I have a preference for XHTML 1.0 Strict and dabble in HTML 5 a little, but will not go mainstream with HTML 5 until the spec is more or less finalised and we have a proper (W3C) validator for it. CSS is a bit of a grey area sometimes as we are often forced to use hacks/fixes for Internet Explorer.

I create sites of all sizes at affordable rates. You can view some recent websites on the web design section of my portfolio.

I design logos and corporate identities and I'll gladly take on projects with smaller budgets.

bitmap to HTML

With the move to Cape Town came a renewed focus for me. I really enjoy doing static HTML websites and now offer my service as codemonkey to design agencies on a contract basis.

You mock up the website in Photoshop or Fireworks with all pages design elements and I'll code a compliant XHTML website from it. I code by hand, so sites are trim and efficient with guaranteed optimised load speeds.

All sites are tested in Firefox, Internet Explorer (6 and 7), Opera, Safari (PC), Flock and Chrome.

I also prepare and/or customise themes for WordPress from Photoshop or Fireworks (Illustrator at a push).

web hosting

I offer affordable, application specific web hosting with all sites that I create. Servers are based in a South African data centre and offer reliable, stable Linux Hosting.

Web hosting is not a core function of my business though - I only normally host sites that I design/develop. If you would like affordable, reliable hosting with one of South Africa's leading Internet and Hosting Service Providers, you can follow my example and host with WebAfrica. Their service and backup is unlike anything that I have come across in this field.
