Yup … it’s that time of the year when we all reflect on what was/could have been and make empty resolutions for the new year so that we have something to procrastinate about until June. This past year (professionally) has been one of the most disappointing and most successful years ever – at least there’s balance. CMS = Content Management System, but you probably already knew that.

The web has really come a long way from being a platform for sharing information among the exalted view to where we stand today with information being accessible by all. Not just that – we can all contribute.

Websites are no longer necessarily created by web designers; there are tons of online applications and/or frameworks that make it easy for just about anyone to publish content to the web. Have something to say? Easy … go register a blog, pick a theme and you’re good to go.

Companies on the other hand, have a need for a product that is designed in line with their regular visual standard … maybe I should back-pedal a bit (more…)

• About 80% of all new bloggers will write a “tips for blogging” post within their first 5 posts
• Bloggers are not (necessarily) journalists
• Above 50% of all bloggers write about their personal lives and/or other crap that no-one really cares about
• Bloggers (generally) either have fragile egos or inferiority complexes
• Most bloggers do not know how to use a spell checker
• There are very few original ideas/topics to write about
• We’re all doomed
