Got an e-mail this morning from Mrinal Desai, inviting me to download the latest release of one of my favourite applications.

Crossloop is a desktop sharing application. What this means (in essence) is that I can allow another user to see exactly what I am busy doing on my PC. I do this by setting up the session and sharing the access key with another Crossloop user, who can then connect to my PC and see what I am seeing or vice-versa.

What this means for me is that I can guide clients (who have Crossloop installed) through queries by actively viewing what they are doing/clicking on their PC or guide them through steps by sharing my desktop, as a sort of live demo/tutorial.

loop betaNew features include a “view only” mode and file transfer function.

“CrossLoop is the first in the market to provide free file transfer (with no limits to size, files or folders) with free screen/desktop sharing between two people” … so says Crossloop.

CrossLoop is powered by the proprietary CrossLoop VIP Tunnel, a secure peer-to-peer data transmission system. CrossLoop encrypts all files and messages exchanged on their network to ensure user privacy. Only you and your invited friends or family can view or share control of your computer. A CrossLoop session can only begin on your computer by explicitly inviting them to begin a session. All data sent over the CrossLoop network is encrypted at the endpoints using a 128-bit Blowfish encryption.

You can try Crossloop for yourself by downloading it from here.

I am really looking forward to watching this application evolve and well done to the Crossloop team!!
